SMS Messaging: Usage, Pricing, and Billing

This feature is currently only available in the U.S. and Canada. 

Starting May 1, 2026, SMS messaging in Daily Connect includes a monthly usage allowance, with a small overage charge for accounts that exceed it. Here's everything you need to know.

What SMS is Used For

Most centers use SMS for onboarding and time-sensitive situations — sending admission links and PIN codes to new families who aren't yet in the app, or reaching parents quickly in an emergency. For everything else — daily updates, announcements, routine communication — messaging through the Daily Connect app is free, unlimited, and the better tool for the job.

What's Included

Each account includes 200 SMS messages per location, per month, at no charge. 

If your account exceeds its included messages in a given month, additional messages are billed at $3.00 per 100 SMS messages. Overages are charged per location. For example, if Location A sends 245 messages and Location B sends 225 messages, overage charges for the month would be $6.00 ($3.00 per location). 

Unused messages don't roll over to the following month.

How to Check Your Usage

You can view your current SMS usage at any time:

  1. Open the Daily Connect app

  2. Tap the Menu icon

  3. Tap Childcare Settings

  4. Tap Text Messages

How Billing Works

SMS overage charges appear as separate charges for each location on your monthly invoice. Your first invoice with SMS charges will be the one generated after May 1.
