How to add lessons, menus or events to the calendar

Calendar items inform parents about upcoming events, food menus, or lessons. 


Creating a lesson allows you to indicate and describe the different classes you teach to children on specific dates. 

Creating a menu allows you to specify the different meal types (solid food) and what time they are served to children. Creating an activity enables the addition of various activities to the calendar.




Follow the steps below to create a lesson:

  1. Navigate to Calendar, select the plus icon Create Lesson. 

  • You can select Calendar at the bottom of your homepage or go to Settings Calendar.



  1. Enter the lesson title, description and upload supporting documentation.




  1. Indicate the date and time of the lesson.



  1. Select whether you want parents to be notified of this event then select Save


You can also choose to add a lesson from an existing lesson plan. A lesson plan consists of courses, each having lessons that can be placed on the calendar. 

These lesson plans can only be created by admins.




Follow the steps below to create a menu:

  1. Navigate to Calendar >  plus icon Create Menu.



  1.  You can create multiple menu entries for the whole week by selecting the menu entries and assigning a time for each. 

    


You can also create one individual menu entry for a specific date and time by selecting Individual menu entry.


Add more entries to the menu list, by selecting Edit menu list then enter the name(s) and time of the menu entry label(s) you would like to add. 



  1. Select the menu type, enter a title, description, date, time, and add attachments. Check the appropriate box to notify parents of the new event.


  1. Select Save





Follow the steps below to create an event:

  1. Navigate to Calendar plus icon Create Event.



  1. Enter the event’s title, description, date and time and upload supporting documentation.




  1. Select a color in which the event will be highlighted on the calendar. 



  1. Choose whether parents should receive a notification for the event and if necessary, edit the notification message. 



  1. Select Save
